Where can you watch the marathon?

For those who want to cheer on runners from the sidelines, there are a number of different areas where you can do just that. The race starts around Congress & Second Avenues in downtown Austin and the course passes by some of Austin’s most iconic landmarks.

A look at the 2024 Austin Marathon map can give you a better sense of prime spots. Some recommended viewing locations include:

  • Austin City Hall
  • Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge
  • Oyster Landing

Just because you’re not running, doesn’t mean you can’t have an energetic and exciting time. Hear live music from local musicians all around the course. At the finish line, there will be food trucks, jumbotrons, and more live music.

Post-Marathon Festivities & More

Catch a breather, snap some pictures, and celebrate your amazing feat at the Finisher Festival! There, you’ll find snacks, hydration stations, food trucks, discounted massages, and a beer garden. With adrenaline pumping and good vibes all around, the 2024 Austin Marathon is bound to be an unforgettable experience.

If you can’t make it to the event, but will be in the Austin area, you may want to look into alternative routes since many downtown streets will be blocked off for the weekend.
